A GEORGE III MAHOGANY BRACKET CLOCK with a
chipped 8-inch painted dial and pierced gilt hands, the
movement with anchor escapement and numbered
pendulum adjustment, the backplate signed Rivers &
Son Cornhill London and with engraved borders, in a
moulded broken-arch case with a panelled top and
brass scale frets at the sides and below the dial, Hin.
high (35.5cm.)

A WALNUT BRACKET CLOCK, the 7-inch dial signed William Upjohn Exon. on a plaque in the arch and with pendulum aperture, engraved centre and well modelled mask spandrels, the altered movement with chain fusees and anchor escapement, the backplate engraved with foliate scrolls and a basket of fruit, in a moulded inverted bell-top case, I9xkin. high (49.5cm.)

A GEORGE II EBONISED QUARTER-REPEATING BRACKET TIMEPIECE, the 6-inch dial signed Ralph Threlkeld London in the arch and with calendar and pendulum apertures and mask and scroll spandrels, the move¬ment with five ringed pillars, pull quarter repeat on two bells and later anchor escapement, the backplate engraved with acanthus scrolls and a bird, in a moulded inverted bell-top case, I7in. high (43cm.)

A SMALL AND UNUSUAL EBONISED QUARTER-REPEATING
BRACKET TIMEPIECE, the 43A-inch clock dial signed Ried. Fennell Kensington and with later hands and cherub spandrels, the silvered arch with a pendulum aperture and engraved with foliate scrolls and a basket of fruit, the fusee movement with flat baluster pillars, narrow plates, verge escapement with bob pendulum and pull quarter repeat on two bells, the hammers mounted on an extension to the plates, in a moulded domed case, Hin. high (30.5cm.), early I8th Century, with alteration, movement possibly Dutch.

A GEORGE III SCOTTISH EBONISED BRACKET CLOCK, the 7-inch silvered dial signed Jno. Cleland Edinr. between Strike/Silent and pendulum adjustment dials in the arch and with pendulum and calendar apertures, the centre and spandrels engraved with scrollwork and sprays of leaves and flowers, the repeating five pillar movement with verge escapement and lenticular bob, the backplate engraved with leaf scrolls and two birds, in a moulded inverted bell-top case, 19in. high (48cm.), case with restoration.

A GEORGE III PROVINCIAL BRASS-INLAID EBONISED
BRACKET CLOCK, the 7-inch painted dial with pierced
hands and Strike/Silent dial in the arch, the five pillar
movement with verge escapement and bob pendulum,
the backplate signed Thos Simson Hertford and
engraved with sprays of leaves and flowers, the back
cock and securing brackets similarly decorated, in a
moulded broken-arch case outlined in brass and with
ogee bracket feet, 16in. high (41cm.)

A MAHOGANY CHIMING BRACKET CLOCK, the 6-inch
dial signed Kenneth Maclennan London and with scroll
spandrels and calendar dial in the arch, the three train
movement chiming the quarters on eight bells and
with anchor escapement, the backplate engraved with
foliate sprays and an urn, in a moulded broken-arch
case with cone finials, scale frets, fluted pilasters at the
front corners and ogee bracket feet.

A MAHOGANY QUARTER-REPEATING BRACKET CLOCK
AND BRACKET, the 7-inch dial signed Asselin London
and with pendulum and calendar apertures, mask and
scroll spandrels and Silent/Strike dial in the arch, the
movement with pull quarter repeat on six bells and
verge escapement with bob pendulum, the backplate
engraved with acanthus scrolls, two birds and a mask,
in a George III broken-arch mahogany case with a
panelled top and fluted corners, lS^hin. high (38cm.),
clock circa 1740, and a mahogany Bracket with curved
support, 7in. high (17.5cm.)

A SMALL LATE 17TH CENTURY EBONISED BRACKET CLOCK, the oVi-inch dial with cherub
spandrels, the movement with vase-shaped pillars and verge escapement, the backplate
engraved with tulip scrolls, in a moulded domed case with foliate dorne mounts and cherub’s
head escutcheons, Hin. high (30.5cm.)

AN EBONY-VENEERED QUARTER-REPEATING BRACKET CLOCK, the oVz-inch dial with calendar
aperture, unusual foliate scroll spandrels and Strike/Silent at XII,the movement with six ringed
pillars, pull quarter repeat on three bells and verge escapement with bob pendulum, the
backplate signed Eduardus Burgis Londini Fecit and engraved with delicately drawn sprays of
tulips, in a moulded domed case with urn finials and gilt mounts composed of scrolling leaves
and flowers, Wkin. high (32cm.)

A DUTCH ROSEWOOD TABLE CLOCK, the 9i-inch snuff-brown velvet dial with a gilt skeleton
chapter ring with the minutes numbered in full, Strike/Silent lever at XII, calendar apertures
with pin-hole adjustment below VI, the lower part with figure of Bacchus reclining on a
cornu copia of grapes and a plaque signed Johannes Van Ceulen Fecit Hagae, the five pillar fusee
movement with half-hour striking and verge escapement with bob pendulum and cycloidal
cheeks, the backplate applied with a pierced plaque forming the signature J. v Ceulen Hagae,
the case with ebony pilasters flanking the dial and a figure of Atlas in the broken arch of the
pediment, 2ft. Pkin. high (65cm.), escapement damaged, circa 1700.

JAMES CONDLIFF. A RARE QUARTER-STRIKING SKELETON CLOCK, the glass dial with two rings
numbered I-XII and 13-24 respectively and with centre seconds, the two train quarter-striking
movement with spoked barrels, chain fusees, maintaining power, three gongs in the base and
lever escapement with helical spring and compensation balance, the scrolled frame secured by
six pillars screwed at each end and with a plaque signed James Condliff Liverpool, on a moulded
walnut base and gadrooned feet, 22in. high (56cm.), with a glass Dome.

AN UNUSUAL QUARTER-STRIKING SKELETON CLOCK
with a pierced silvered chapter ring, the two train
movement striking the quarters on two bells and with
chain fusees and anchor escapement, in a pierced
frame composed of scrolls and leaves, on an ebonised
oblong base, ll^iin. high (44.Sem.), with a glass.

A WING ALARUM LANTERN CLOCK, the 6?-inch dial
signed Edmund Card Fecit and with alarum disc and
engraved sprays of tulips, the movement with verge
escapement, the pendulum vibrating between the
trains, and alarum work behind the backplate, in a
posted frame with wall spikes, urn finials and dolphin
cresting pieces, ISin. high (38cm.), late 17th Century,
with restoration.

A LANTERN CLOCK with a 63-inch dial bearing the signature Hindley York and engcaved with tulips, the movement with later anchor escapement and outside count wheel, in a posted frame with urn finials and dolphin cresting pieces, high (39.5cm.)

AN 18TH CENTURY LANTERN CLOCK, the 65-inch dial signed Mayhew Parham and engraved with acanthus scrolls, the movement with verge escapement and out¬side count wheel, in a posted frame with urn finials and dolphin cresting pieces, 15lkin. high (39.5cm.)

A SMALL ALARUM WALL TIMEPIECE, the 6-inch dial
with single hand, alarum dise and bearded mask and
scroll spandrels, the thirty hour movement with
anchor escapement, seconds pendulum and alarum
mechanism mounted at the side, in an iron posted
frame with slender rectangular corner pieces and wall
spikes, AViin. high (21cm.), 18th Century, probably.

A RARE WALL CLOCK, the 9e-inch dial signed Joseph Knibb Londini and with narrow chapter ring
and single hand, the centre well engraved with an urn of full blown flowers including a daffodil
and peonies, the spandrels with tulips, the movement with verge escapement, bob pendulum
and outside count wheel, in a posted frame with slender ringed corner columns and unusual urn
finials, Hin. high (30.5cm.), movement with restoration    ?1500-2500
*** The engraving of the dial suggests a date in the early 1670’s, shortly after Joseph Knibb removed from Oxford to London. A Longcase Clock, the 12-inch dial signed Thos. Lister
and with engraved centre, age and phase of the moon
apertures below XII, calendar aperture and rococo
shell, flower and scroll spandrels, the movement with
rack striking, 72m. high (30.5cm.), calendar and moon
work incomplete.

A mahogany Longcase Clock, the 12-inch dial signed
Jno Baldwin Teversham No. 105 and with calendar
aperture, engraved centre and urn spandrels, the
movement with outside count wheel, in a case with
three brass finials, a shaped cresting and arched waist
door, 7ft. 8in. high (234cm.)

A George III oak Longcase Clock, the 13-inch painted dial signed Davd. Craig Fordpathhead and with seconds and calendar dials, fan spandrels and thistles in the arch, the movement contained in a case with a swan-neck pediment and arched waist door flanked by fluted quadrant columns, 6ft. 9in. high (206cm.)
