with cast trophy spandrels, matted
centre, dummy pendulum and date
apertures, with regulation and
strike/silent dials in the arch, the twin
fusee movement with verge escapement,
the backplate scroll engraved and signed,
the case with caddy top with brass
handles, the door with scroll frets, the
sides with circular and rectangular glazed
panels, on bracket feet, repeat mechanism
removed, 40cm.; 16in., with keys and
winder.

An attractive ebonised
quarter-repeating Bracket Clock of
small size, circa 1750, with a 6in. brass
arched dial, scroll engraved, with cast
mask spandrels, the silvered chapter ring
with applied shield signed James Snelling,
London, strike/silent and regulation dials
in the arch, the movement with replaced
verge escapement striking on one bell
and chiming on six, the backplate with
engraved foliate scroll and mask
decoration, in a plain case, with brass
bracket feet and bail handle, 43cm.
